Congratulations to all the students who participated in the Chinese Speech Competition on Saturday, 13 May, at the Confucius Institute in Auckland. The judge panels have selected winners in all three categories. Follow the link for the full list of winners.

The twelve Special Prize winners in the Secondary Categories will be heading to Wellington for the national final contest on 10 June. The top two students in the Secondary Senior cateogory who will claim the national titles will represent New Zealand in China in October, where they will share their Chinese proficiency and knowledge with high school students from all over the world.

Vlad Yueyev, a student from the University of Auckland, has won first place in the Tertiary Category. He is looking forward to joining the other college students from around the world to participate in the international Chinese Bridge competition, which will be held in China this July.

We congratulate all the winners and participators, and appreciate the support from all the schools and families. The certificates and prizes will be sent to the schools soon. A grand prize-giving event will be held on 16 October, to honor young Chinese learners in schools. More information will be announced later.
