On Saturday, 13 May, over one hundred local Chinese learners gathered in the city campus of the University of Auckland to compete on their Chinese fluency.
The Confucius Institute in Auckland organized the "Chinese Bridge" Speech Competition for the tertiary and secondary students. See below for some snapshots of the competition.
Final results will be announced soon on our website and participating schools and the students informed. Among the winners, the champion in the tertiary category will go to China this July to represent New Zealand in the global final. Twelve winners in the secondary categories (Year 7-10 and Year 11-13) will go to Wellington on the 10 June to compete in the national final contest with other regional winners from around the country.
