MLAs' arrival kicking-off the 2018 school year

With the start of the new school year, the Confucius Institute in Auckland welcomed the 2018 class of Mandarin Language Assistants to New Zealand on February 2nd.

Farewell, the MLAs of 2017 class

CI Auckland had an farewell ceremony for the MLAs of 2017 on 24th November. Most of them returned to China in December after they finished their teaching of the last term. We wish them all the best in the future.

Chinese proficiency tests widely welcomed by NZ learners

​The Chinese Language Tests (HSK, YCT) are welcomed by more and more Chinese learners in New Zealand. The number of exam participants has increased annually.

CI Auckland hosted Joint Conference of Oceanian Confucius Institutes

Directors from eighteen Confucius Institutes in Australia, Fiji and New Zealand visited Auckland on 27th October for the annual Joint Conference of Oceanian Confucius Institutes. The delegates also include representatives from our foundational partners, Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters and Fudan University.

YCT Exam welcomed in Auckland

The first Youth Chinese Test (YCT) of the year was held in 19th August. With the assistance from the school teachers and Mandarin Language Assistants, over 40 students sat in the exam and achieved some fantastic results. Many of the students came from the cluster schools of Confucius Classroom.
