The Confucius Institute in Auckland is offering a structured series of Mandarin language courses in 2020, starting with the Term 1 programmes. Each course runs for ten weeks, with 1.5-hour evening classes held once a week. The courses offered are open for registration now. Introduction Oral Chinese - Level 1

The participants are expected to understand and use of Chinese pronunciation system (Pinyin), introduce themselves and make appointments with basic details in Chines.

Introduction Oral Chinese - Level 2

The participants are expected to talk about their family members, making phone calls, asking and giving directions in Chinese.

Introduction Oral Chinese - Level 4

This course aims at enhancing their speaking skill to present personal narratives and discuss topics on Chinese culture, such as Chinese holidays, habits and free time, etc. to finally achieve HSK 3 level.

The participants should know at least 300 Chinese words.

Preparation for HSK - Level 4

This course is designed to help them to refine the presentation skills, to help make a smooth transition between colloquial Chinese and writing Chinese. Discussion, debate, and presentation are important components of the class. The final goal aims to pass HSK 4 exam.

The participants should know at least 1000 Chinese words.
