Expression of Interest – Mandarin Language Assistant 2024

With international borders now open, we were delighted to be able to host MLAs this year to support Chinese in Schools. With ‘normality’ settling back in, the Confucius Institute in Auckland is now calling for Expressions of Interest to host an MLA for 2024. This is open to all schools in the wider Auckland area spanning from Northland to Waikato.

‘Free’ (excluding homestay cost contribution) to schools, the language assistant can bring Chinese language and culture into the classroom to provide opportunities for students, teachers and the wider community to learn and engage with a native speaker from China.

• Expression of Interest deadline: 5pm, Friday, 29 September.
• Schools notified by 16 October.
• MLA Workshop for successful schools/principals/lead teachers, Thursday 9 November 2023 (tbc but please diary now).
• Anticipated MLA arrival, end January/beginning February 2024.
