Auckland Lantern Festival is back!

Celebrate Chinese New Year and welcome in the Year of the Dragon at new location, Manukau Sports Bowl, 22-25 February 2024.

The Auckland Lantern Festival is Auckland’s biggest cultural festival and New Zealand’s premier annual four-day festival celebrating Chinese New Year, Chinese culture and Auckland’s Chinese communities. This free, popular, family-friendly festival showcases hundreds of elaborate handmade Chinese lanterns, cultural song, music, and dance performances, craft demonstrations, sponsor activations and competitions, retail and food stalls, and ends with a stunning fireworks display.
