Shanghai Publishing Delegation Explores New Directions in Chinese Language Education with CI Auckland

On October 28 (NZ time), the Confucius Institute in Auckland welcomed a visiting delegation from Shanghai led by Mr He Wenquan, Vice President of the Shanghai People’s Publishing House. The group met with Professor Zhou Xuelin, the Institute’s New Zealand Director, to discuss future collaboration in Chinese language education, publishing, and cultural exchange.

During the meeting, Professor Zhou outlined the Institute’s key achievements and its pivotal role in promoting Chinese language teaching across Auckland and surrounding regions. Each year, the Institute supports numerous primary and secondary schools, contributing to the growing popularity of Chinese as a foreign language in New Zealand.

Mr He introduced the history and core operations of the Shanghai publishing group, highlighting its decades of experience in developing educational and cultural resources. He also shared insights into the group’s ongoing innovations in digital publishing and platform development. The delegation expressed strong interest in understanding local Chinese language education practices and exploring new avenues for cooperation in resource development, teacher training, and cultural engagement.
