The Chinese State Councillor, Mme Liu Yandong, visited the Confucius Institute in Auckland yesterday.  

Mme Liu Yandong gifted a statue of Confucius to The University of Auckland. She received a warm welcome from the university, led by Vice-Chancellor Stuart McCutcheon. 

Councillor Liu, the Chair of Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) in Beijing,  arrived in Auckland on Sunday for a three-day official visit to New Zealand to further cooperation in Science and Innovation, as well as Education.
