Each Chinese Conversation course runs for 6 weeks in 2025, with 1.5-hour evening classes held once a week. (Course times may vary slightly if in agreement with the teacher and students.)
All the courses, except the One-on-One classes that are arranged individually, will be held onsite in person at Confucius Institute premises at the University of Auckland city campus. Class details, including room, access etc will be confirmed prior to the start of class.

Confucius Institute teachers
The Confucius Institute in Auckland is pleased to have a cohort of experienced teachers of Chinese to deliver our programmes.

WANG Yu
CI Fudan teacher
Yu is an experienced teacher of Chinese from Fudan University (Shanghai) and is currently based at the Confucius Institute in Auckland. He has worked in other Confucius Institutes, including Baku State University in Azerbaijan and the University of Saint Thomas in Chile. He is a passionate and dedicated teacher with five years of full-time international Chinese teaching experience.

ZHOU Xiao
CI Fudan teacher
Xiao is a Chinese language teacher from Fudan University. She has over 10 years of experience in teaching Chinese as a second language. She has taught Chinese at Novasibrisk State University in Russia, Rajamangala Technology University in Thailand and the Confucius Institute of Edmonton in Canada. Since 2021, she has been tutoring Chinese at the University of Otago and is currently based there. She has wide and in-depth experience with oral English teaching and tutoring for HSK exams.

LEI Linda
CI local teacher
Linda is passionate about both Chinese instruction and learning. She has taught school-age children to adults and also in NZ, USA, and China. Linda was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Auckland for several years, guiding students through introductory and intermediate Mandarin courses. Her doctoral research looks into strategies and skills designed to conquer the challenges presented by Chinese characters. Linda currently works with CI as a teacher of Chinese.

WANG Yuanyuan
CI Fudan teacher
Yuanyuan is an experienced teacher of Chinese from Fudan University, currently based at Confucius Institute in Auckland. She has worked in other Confucius Institute offices at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Hungary, and at Zayed University in UAE. Yuanyuan is a dedicated teacher who has taught mainly adults but also high school students.
