Winners Announced – 16th NZ Chinese Essay Competition (2022)
Many distinguished speakers including Mr Dong Zhixue, Education Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in New Zealand; CI in Auckland Director, Xuelin Zhou; and Programme Manager at Tui Tuia Learning Circle, Stephanie Mortimore, delivered insightful and inspiring talks that captivated attendees, while other keynote speakers (Lawrence Jun Zhang the Professor of Linguistics-in-Education at UoA and Belinda Sydenham, NCEA Implementation Facilitator from the Ministry of Education), panelists, and workshop leaders kept everyone engaged and excited throughout the two-day event. Attendees were treated to a wide range of topics, from the latest advancements in language technology to best practices for online and in-person teaching, and the importance of cultural competence in language learning.
In addition to the informative sessions, attendees had plenty of opportunities for networking and community building. The Fifth Oceania Chinese Teachers’ Conference 2023 showcased the vitality and creativity of the Chinese language education community.
