Four New Zealand secondary students had the ‘experience of a lifetime’ when they attended the thirteen day Chinese Test Winter Camp in Shanghai last December. The camp was organized by Hanban, Confucius Institute Headquarters in Beijing, for the top students from around the world who had successfully completed the Chinese language proficiency test.
During the camp, the students had Chinese language lessons and experienced various fun Chinese cultural activities, such as Tea making, Calligraphy and Chinese knot making.
The students also visited some famous landmarks in China, such as Shanghai’s Lujiazui skyline, Yu Garden, The Bund, Nanjing Confucius Temple and Nanjing Museum. Great fun was had cruising the Huangpu River, shopping in the local market, tasting the local cuisines and celebrating the New Year with students from all around the world. A fantastic opportunity for deserving students!
